Farm Tractors

Although tractors can be used in many areas, they were originally designed for agriculture. From sowing to harvesting, a tractor is indispensable for working the land during the entire growing process. With a range of attachments behind the tractor, it can plough, sow, fertilise, harvest and plough again.

Agricultural tractors, indispensable in the agricultural sector

The standard agricultural tractor has a large rear wheel and a smaller front wheel. This makes the tractor easier to drive over rough terrain without losing power or speed. An average tractor therefore has a large power capacity.

Implements or a trailer can be connected by means of the three-point linkage. A PTO shaft or a hydraulic system is used to operate the implement. With the PTO shaft the implement is coupled to the engine. Modern tractors work with a revolving PTO. With this a double clutch can be generated when the implement is operated. The advantage of this system is that the tractor does not have to accelerate before it starts moving. The machine keeps on running even when speed is reduced or stopped. Modern tractors are all equipped with a roll-bar or driver's cab in case the tractor tips over unexpectedly.

Multifunctional with agricultural implements

A trailer or an implement can normally be coupled to the rear, but it is also possible to fit an attachment. For example, a ripper can be coupled to the rear. The soil is ploughed with the steel tines of the ripper. A tractor with a chipper is used to shred or chop. With a mower, the tractor can be used to mow grass.
